Smart Web Design is User-Friendly
By Connie Hannon
Unfortunately, the only thing I make for dinner at the moment is reservations. And, I make those reservations on the run with my smartphone. It’s really frustrating to try and see a restaurant’s menu when their website isn’t built for the smaller smartphone or tablet platform – what the tekkies call dynamic. So, as a consumer, please consider the platform your site will be accessed upon. And, statistics show that people searching for restaurants, are actually searching for them on their mobile or tablet devices rather than on their laptop/desktops – 81% in fact – according to the latest study from SinglePlatform and research firm Chadwick Martin Bailey, and ¾ of those surveyed choose where to dine based on those search results. So, if your website doesn’t load within two seconds on a mobile device, include a video and your menu, you’ve lost the customer before they ever stepped inside your restaurant.
